Summer has definitely arrived in Phoenix and it’s been treating us benignly, with temperatures in the low 100’s. I’ve spent most of the past month hunkered down inside, editing Book 6 in the Rosemont series. The cover I showed you last month will remain, but the title may be different. That topic is still being hotly debated. Stay tuned. And to those of you who guessed that the cover depicted a building on a college campus—you were correct. Well done!!

I just got back from 3 days in oh-so-beautiful San Rafael, CA, visiting the campus of Guide Dogs for the Blind. I was doing research for my next book which will be the first in a series, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Foundation for Blind Children. I spent three day immersed in the courage and hope, kindness and joy, that pervades every inch of the remarkable GDB facility—plus I was surrounded by doggy cuteness everywhere I turned. Lucky me!! I’d be remiss if I didn’t thank the remarkable staff at GDB for so generously answering all of my questions and anticipating things I needed to know. Rabih Dow, Jane Flower, and Theresa Stern—you have my endless admiration and gratitude.

I have only 3 more weeks of being a lawyer before I leave the practice of law to focus on my author career. I’m 98% excited and 2 % terrified. I think that’s normal.

No baking or fun hobbies this month—just work/work/work as I finish Book 6 and wrap up my legal career.
